"The Military Auxiliary Radio System (MARS) is comprised of two radio services, Army MARS and Air Force MARS. While operating as a Joint Service in some activities, each service also operates independently with different command structures. Operators in both branches go through intensive training and dedicate their skills and equipment to support contingency communications for the Department of Defense and their respective military services.
This forum will address the requirements to become a MARS member of either service and give potential members a look at what membership involves. Pat Johnson, KJ4VE, Army MARS FL Director and Bill Matzinger, WD4KBW, AF MARS FL Deputy Director will share updates from 2019 and what missions are anticipated and expected in 2020."
