Radio Amateurs speak a foreign language that is not easily understood by the general public. This is especially true for younger boys and girls as well as men and women who are desperately needed to keep our unique hobby alive. To add to this dilemma, public safety officials at all levels are promoting "plain language" in radio communications. We have a truly unique hobby that involves "Fun, Family, Friends, STEM Education and Public Service." Additionally, no other hobby can come close to Amateur Radio in the vast range of learning opportunities in the realm of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math critically important to maintain and expand American Leadership in the global economy. We have powerful stories to tell so let's exploit them to grow our hobby!
