HamCation Chairman's Message

I would like to thank all volunteers, visitors and vendors for a fantastic HamCation® 2013. Orlando was again the place to be, and all the hams experienced the result of the hard work of the HamCation® organization.  We were blessed with great weather during the event.

The number of tailgaters exceeded our expectations.
Adding a new area between Commercial I, II and the Swaps building, resulted in even more Tailgate spots.

The RV spots were very well populated. A great group of the Air Streamers WBCCI club, gathered at their usual place near the lake.
The Children Safety Village was up to capacity for the Forums and an overwhelming number of interested hams found their way using golf carts for their transportation to and from the Forum spaces.

We welcomed a delegation of the ARRL Headquarters.
Laura Smith, counsel of the FCC enforcement department, very well represented the FCC.

The commercial areas I, II and III were very busy all three days.
All the big companies were represented where some of the vendors showed their new products for the first time in Orlando.

We are grateful to all volunteers - over one hundred- who support HamCation® with their help during the show.
Volunteers are an eminent part of the whole show, without them a show like HamCation® is impossible to organize.

The preparations for HamCation® 2014 have already started. HamCation® 2014 will be held February 7, 8 and 9 2014. Mark your calendar for another great show!

Please visit our website www.hamcation.com regularly for updates in all areas.
Once again thanks to all for a great HamCation® 2013.

Peter Meijers AI4KM
Chairman Orlando HamCation® 2013
